Before founding the EEA, Gary was instrumental in the creation of the Energy Efficiency Awards, which he has successfully managed for the past decade. These awards have become a cornerstone of the industry, highlighting and celebrating excellence in energy efficiency. With a professional background in publishing and sales, Gary brings a wealth of experience in communication and stakeholder engagement. His expertise has been pivotal in driving the success of the initiatives he leads. In his personal life, Gary is an ardent supporter of Liverpool FC and a dedicated cricket enthusiast.

Kenneth Campbell is Chairman of the Energy Efficiency Association CiC, Co-Founder of the National Energy Efficiency Awards and Director of Campbell Braybrooke Ltd. As Association Chairman, Kenneth has a particular interest in new energy efficient technologies,investment in and funding for energy efficiency, supply chain delivery, and skills and training for the energy efficiency sector. Kenneth has Bachelor of Science degree from Glasgow University where he studied Computer Science along with Biochemistry and Physiology.

Dave began his career as a CITB apprentice before moving into teaching Carpentry and Joinery part-time at Barnfield College in 2000, later joining full-time in 2002. He taught and assessed NVQs while completing a CertEd and participating in the Subject Learning Coach programme. In 2008, Dave became Head of Construction at Bedford College, where he earned a Master’s in Education focused on Strategic Leadership and Management. He coached new staff and aspiring managers, and following the 2018 merger with Tresham College, joined the senior leadership team as Director of Construction and Building Services. In August 2022, Dave was appointed Vice Principal at Bedford Campus, overseeing strategic leadership and curriculum areas including Construction, Engineering, Science, Computing, and Motor Vehicle. He has led major projects such as the £11m Wellingborough Campus renovation and the £4.5m Offsite Construction Training Centre. Dave has been active in BACH since 2008, serving as National Chair from 2019–2021, helping shape national construction training policy. He has also driven initiatives like Heritage projects, Apprenticeships, and Higher Education programmes. Most recently, he developed the College’s strategy for Skills Competitions and partnered with WorldSkills UK to embed skills excellence into teaching and staff development.

MCS is responsible for the national Standards that cover low carbon products and their installation, used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources. Ian is leading MCS through a period of transformational change as the organisation strives to inspire a next generation of home-grown energy, fit for the needs of every UK home and community. He started his career in telecommunications with British Telecom (BT), culminating in leading BT’s offshore operations in India. Over the last 15 years he has held leadership roles focused on organisational turnaround and restructuring, including for the UK Environment Agency’s National Laboratory Service and for the Canadian Standards Association’s UK operations as a world leader in explosion safety and environmental product certification. His career underpins his passion for quality and the role that standards play in protecting consumers. Ian is a member of the UK government’s Green Jobs Delivery Group, Solar Industry Taskforce and the Electrification of Heat Taskforce.

South & City College Birmingham has also been working in partnership with Birmingham City Council’s Net Zero team to facilitate opportunities or supply chain to meet their one contractors and support in bidding for and being successful in gaining work. Rebecca will be talking about Innovation in education through collaboration to support the local economy be ready for and rise to the retrofit revolution.

Luke has been a driving force in skills development, apprenticeships, and green careers across the South West for over seven years. With a career rooted in education and industry collaboration, he has consistently championed initiatives that bridge the skills gap and create sustainable pathways into employment. Luke began his journey at Exeter College as a Training and Recruitment Advisor in Apprenticeships, where he fostered partnerships with employers and supported learners in achieving their career goals. Progressing into project and leadership roles, he played a key role in shaping Exeter College’s Green Skills curriculum, including the launch of innovative insulation programmes. As Skills Manager within the Apprenticeships and Future Skills team, Luke led the creation and growth of the Green Skills Advisory Panel (GSAP). What started as a regional forum has since evolved into a thriving network of over 200 businesses, 20 regional centres across the UK, and international partnerships in Malawi and Nepal. Under his leadership, GSAP became a nationally recognised, member-led community supported by local authorities, charities, and training providers. Its mission is to champion and advance sustainable training and education opportunities within housing, construction, engineering, and manufacturing. Alongside GSAP, Luke is also the Project Manager of Building Greater Exeter, where he works closely with employers, educators, and stakeholders to address the skills shortage in construction and the built environment. Through this role, he leads collaborative projects that raise awareness of career opportunities, inspire the next generation, and ensure the region has the skilled workforce it needs to thrive.

Tracey Patmore is Head of Products at NOCN Group, overseeing the development of all regulated qualifications and courses including apprenticeship end point assessments (EPA), short courses and international products. She brings over 30 years of experience in the Education Sector, having previously worked as a fully qualified lecturer, assessor, and internal quality assurer (IQA). She holds a Level 7 qualification in Strategic Leadership and Management. Over her career in education she has worked as a full time lecturer, where she progressed to the Learning Director of a large sector area. She has also worked for awarding bodies, employers, colleges, and training providers developing curricula. She was involved in the UK Government’s reform of apprenticeships and technical education, working with government bodies and employers to support this reform.

Nafsika is a Net Zero Programme Manager with extensive experience delivering large scale government funded skills training programmes. At the Midlands Net Zero Hub, she has led national and regional initiatives for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, including major schemes focused on retrofit training skills, local energy advice, and local authority enforcement of Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard Regulations. Her work spans programme design, performance monitoring, budgeting, audit, and stakeholder engagement, supported by strong capabilities in qualitative and quantitative analysis. With academic research experience in building performance and simulation from Loughborough University, Nafsika brings a deep technical understanding of building physics, occupant experience, and whole building retrofit risk management. She has contributed to international research, delivered numerous conference presentations, and in her current role has developed guidance, toolkits, and bid proposals to support government funded skills training delivery.

Lord Porter has devoted more than 20 years to leadership in local government, with deep expertise in planning, housing and regulatory frameworks. As Leader of South Holland District Council from 2003 until 2023, he guided local policy and the delivery of housing and infrastructure in a rapidly evolving local government context. He served as Chair of the Local Government Association from 2015, acting as a voice for councils across England and Wales, helping shape national policy, lobbying government and supporting local authorities in governance, planning, service delivery and housing matters. In recognition of his contributions, he was elevated to the House of Lords in October 2015 as Baron Porter of Spalding, CBE. Lord Porter has a strong academic foundation with a BA from De Montfort University and a Postgraduate Certificate from Canterbury Christ Church University, reinforcing his commitment to evidence-informed governance. Within EWI Pro, he runs the Commercial and R&D departments, which are ultimately responsible for bringing insulating solutions to homes and businesses around the country. Nick is also passionate about developing 'green skills' and helping improve people's participation in the low-carbon job market.

Dean has 26 years’ experience within the construction industry specialising in insulation specification. He has undertaken various roles that have included technical and business development positions, working with refurbishment contractors, and major and regional house builders. SAP compliant, new build construction and refurbishment under Building Regulations Part L for energy efficiency in relation to the conservation of Fuel and power, has been a key focus throughout Dean’s career. A large proportion of Dean’s time has been involved in the retro fit refurbishment sector during the evolution of schemes such as CERT, CESP, ECO LADS, and SHDF & HUGS, working and collaborating with industry stakeholders to support delivery of energy efficiency projects.

As Operations and Compliance Director he oversaw the installation of commercial and domestic solar, storage, and heating in both the able to pay and, as a Green Deal Provider and a Green Deal Finance Company operator, the wider funded markets. Joining Certi-fi Schemes in 2017 as Managing Director, he launched the Energy Performance Validation Scheme (EPVS), instigating the return of consumer lenders to renewables, whilst building the Flexible Energy Oversight Registration Body (Flexi-Orb) – an initiative dedicated to delivering safer and more robust standards for improved installation outcomes – which launched in 2024 and is recognised to ISO IEC 17067:2013 and accredited to ISO IEC 17065:2012.

Matthew has delivered large scale retrofit frameworks for local authorities and housing associations, embedding data driven asset modelling and lifecycle carbon analysis. He also leads the delivery of national audit programmes for both central government and arm's length bodies, driving assurance, governance, and technical compliance across funded and non funded schemes. Recognised as a RESi Trailblazer (Property Week, 2024) for advancing low carbon housing, he regularly speaks on heat decarbonisation, retrofit, and the just transition at national forums such as Futurebuild and Policy Forum for Wales. Jessica has held the post of Director, Net Zero Buildings & Industry in DESNZ from September 2021, leading the Portfolio & Affordability Directorate. She was previously Director of Industrial Strategy in BEIS and more recently was leading some of the Department’s work to respond to the COVID pandemic, including as SRO of the COVID Business Grants Programme. Before that, Jessica held various roles in MHCLG, BEIS and Cabinet Office covering a range of economic policy, including on housing and the labour market. She lives in Kingston-upon-Thames and has two daughters.

Jack works at Ofgem on the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes, where he focuses on delivering legislative change, developing policy, and managing scheme guidance. Since joining Ofgem in 2018, Jack has gained extensive policy experience across a range of environmental and social schemes. He began his career there on the Renewable Heat Incentive schemes before moving into renewable electricity in 2019, specialising in the Feed-in Tariffs and the Renewables Obligation schemes. Since 2023, Jack has specialised in ECO schemes, with a particular focus on ECO4, the scheme’s fourth iteration.

The Energy Efficiency Association invites members to attend the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) — an important event where we reflect on the past year’s progress, celebrate key achievements, and look ahead to our strategic goals for the future.

The AGM provides a valuable opportunity to hear updates from the Association’s leadership team on industry developments, advocacy initiatives, and ongoing efforts to support members and advance energy efficiency across the UK. Members will also participate in key governance matters, including the presentation of the annual report and financial statements, and the election of Board representatives.

An open discussion session will follow, allowing members to share insights, raise questions, and contribute to the Association’s future direction.

Brian was elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for South Scotland in 2016 and served as the party’s spokesperson for Public Health Mental Health, Wellbeing & Sport. His particular area of interest is in how Scots from all backgrounds can have access to as many opportunities as possible to be more active.Brian was re-elected in 2021 as a South Scotland Regional MSP and has been appointed Shadow Minister for the Environment, Biodiversity and Land Reform. He also serves on Holyrood’s Covid-19 Recovery Committee.

After his election to the Scottish Parliament in 2011, hebecame leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats. Under his leadership, the Scottish Liberal Democrat team at Holyrood delivered new funding for colleges, extra help for families with the cost of childcare and held the SNP Government’s feet to the fire over local court closures, police centralisation and the state of the Scottish NHS. He became Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland's Languages in 2011 and was then Minister for International Development and Europe from 2016 to 2018. Prior to becoming an MSP, Alasdair was senior media relations officer for the Church of Scotland, and was named Gaelic journalist of the year in 2006. He was the National Secretary of the SNP from 2003 to 2006. When time allows, he sings with the Back District Gaelic Choir in Lewis, with whom he has competed in the National Mod.

James later expanded their role to include auditing BMW importers worldwide. From 2014 to 2023, they played a pivotal role in ensuring warranty compliance and developing efficient warranty processes. As of 2023, James currently holds the position of Audit Operations Manager at Ofgem. James manages the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive audit program, which ensures compliance with incentive regulations for participants. This role is vital in contributing to the UK's goal of achieving Net Zero emissions. Throughout their career, James has demonstrated their expertise in audit operations, warranty development, and customer service. James has also gained extensive experience in collaborating with global automotive companies and contributing to important sustainability initiatives.

In 2008, Dave became Head of Construction at Bedford College, where he earned a Master’s in Education focused on Strategic Leadership and Management. He coached new staff and aspiring managers, and following the 2018 merger with Tresham College, joined the senior leadership team as Director of Construction and Building Services. In August 2022, Dave was appointed Vice Principal at Bedford Campus, overseeing strategic leadership and curriculum areas including Construction, Engineering, Science, Computing, and Motor Vehicle. He has led major projects such as the £11m Wellingborough Campus renovation and the £4.5m Offsite Construction Training Centre. Dave has been active in BACH since 2008, serving as National Chair from 2019–2021, helping shape national construction training policy. He has also driven initiatives like Heritage projects, Apprenticeships, and Higher Education programmes. Most recently, he developed the College’s strategy for Skills Competitions and partnered with WorldSkills UK to embed skills excellence into teaching and staff development.

Having always had an interest in defence-related issues, Wendy successfully completed all the stages of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, learning more about the Royal Navy, the RAF and the British Army. Outside of politics, Wendy has taken part in many charity walks and runs. She is a member of Rotary, and she enjoys collecting art deco ceramics. Supply chain conference and exhibition with chance to question MPs about future enery efficiency policy

The EEA is organising a conference for the industry to get together ahead of this years General Election to discuss Energy Efficiency Policy.

Our South Energy Efficiency Conference will take place at the IOD, 116 Pall Mall, London, on March 14th, with representatives of Ofgem, TrustMark and key industry companies, where you will get answers to your questions about Energy Efficiency.
There will also be a political and industry panel discussion with Lord Callanan and Dr Alan Whitehead MP.
