Green Homes Grant extended to 2022

Government announce GHG scheme to run to March 2022 and more money for Green Energy

Green Homes Grant extended to 2022

The Government today has announced a much requested extension to the Green Homes  Grant Voucher Scheme.

The announcement, part of a wider plan for a 'Greener Economy' has been welcomed by the EEA with Chief Executive, Gary Braybrooke, saying "This is great news for our members. The extension may now justify the investment the energy efficiency sector has being making in this scheme, and will help give job security to installers who have been worried that they would be laid off in March."

The extension will be accompanied by an additional £1billion to fund it.

The Government has further announced that it will be looking to install 600,000 heat pumps a year over the next 8 years.

It is hoped that the energy efficiency sector will create 50,000 new jobs over the next 10 years to deliver on the Government's plans.
