Alok Sharma Resigns as Secretary of State at BEIS

Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP has resigned a Secretary of State at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. He is to remain in Cabinet but he will now focus on his role as Chairman of COP26 in Glasgow.

The new Secretary of State is Kwasi Kwarteng MP, who moves up from his role as Energy Minister.

The new Minister for Business, Energy & Clean Growth is Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyn MP, the former International Development Secretary. and previously Armed Forces Minister at the MoD.
