Commanders of the British Empire (CBE) awards went to Richard Bruce, Director, Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, for services to Decarbonising Transport; Michael Lewis, Chief Executive Officer, Uniper Energy, for services to Energy Security and Net Zero; and Dr Alan Whitehead, former Labour MP and Shadow Energy Security Minister, for Parliamentary and Political Service. Dr Whitehead participated in the industry panel at the Energy Efficiency Association 2024 South Conference.
Officers of the British Empire (OBE) awards went to Sally Fenton, lately Head, Built Environment Innovation Team, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, for services to Net Zero Innovation; James Hygate, Chief Executive Director, Green Fuels Ltd. and Firefly Green Fuels Ltd, for services to Low Carbon Fuels; Professor Nicholas Jenkins, Professor of Renewable Energy, Cardiff University, for services to Renewable Energy and to Smart Grid Technologies; and Georgina Worrall, Head, POWERful Women, for services to Diversity and Inclusion in the Energy Sector
Roderick Wood, Founder and Managing Director, CWP Energy Ltd, became a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for services to Renewable Energy and to Sustainability.
